Questions
We believe healthcare should be simple, personal, and easy to understand. Below are answers to common questions about our membership, our approach, and what you can expect as a patient.

FAQs: Our DPC Model
No. Our Direct Primary Care (DPC) model covers your day-to-day healthcare and preventive healthcare needs. We still recommend maintaining some type of insurance to cover "catastrophic events" such as major surgeries or hospitalizations. Virginia law requires that all DPC agreements state: This agreement does not provide comprehensive health insurance coverage. It provides only the provision of primary care as specifically described in this agreement.
By removing the "middleman," we focus entirely on your healthcare needs rather than paperwork. This allows us to offer unhurried visits and significantly reduced membership costs without the constraints of insurance company mandates and requirements.
Absolutely. You can still use your traditional insurance for labs, imaging (X-rays/MRIs), specialty medications, and visits to specialists outside of our office.
DPC is a healthcare model that gives you direct access to your healthcare provider in exchange for a monthly membership fee. DPC restores the relationship between the patient and the provider. It provides you with unlimited access, transparent pricing, and a provider who truly knows your history.
While both concierge medicine and DPC offer better access to your provider than traditional primary care, DPC is much more affordable—often the price of a daily cup of coffee. Unlike concierge practices that often bill insurance on top of a membership fee, we never bill insurance and we never charge co-pays.
Your membership includes preventive care, wellness exams, chronic disease management, acute sick visits, as well as some basic procedures and discounted labs. This includes in-person visits, virtual/telehealth visits, and direct phone, text, or email communication with your provider.
No. You can see your provider as often as needed, whether in person, via telehealth, or by text, phone, or email.
Yes! DPC is a qualified medical expense. We recommend you also consult your tax professional for guidance in your personal financial plan.
If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911 immediately. For non-emergent, urgent concerns after hours, our members may reach their provider directly via text, email, or phone. While this direct access often helps us manage minor issues at home and avoid unnecessary trips to an urgent care or ER, we will always prioritize your safety. If we determine that your condition requires a higher level of care (like an ER or hospital setting), we will direct you to the nearest emergency department and help coordinate your care from there.
No. We believe in earning your trust every month. Our memberships are month-to-month, and you can cancel at any time with a simple 14-day notice.
Yes. We believe that true wellness involves the whole person—physical, mental, and spiritual. While we provide medical care based on evidence-based clinical standards, we are also honored to offer prayer support and discuss how your faith plays a role in your healing and overall health journey. We are here to "stand in the gap" for you.
Inspired by the "City on a Hill" (Matthew 5:14), the practice is built to be a source of visible, reliable care in the community, operating with transparency and a high level of integrity.
